CT MRI LI-RADS in Routine Practice

Abstract Primary liver cancer is the third most common cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) comprising vast majority cases. HCC unlike solid cancers can be diagnosed based on imaging findings alone using multiphasic contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance (MRI) without need for histopathological confirmation in Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) was first introduced by American College Radiology 2011 help a multidisciplinary team disease experts to improve accuracy, consistency, clarity communication between radiologists treating physicians. To date, LI-RADS has undergone four major updates 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018.
